Mural

Students at the middle school are anxious to begin painting a 75 foot mural that will give honor to decades of Mancelona's unique history. Patricia Innis, an environmental artist & member of Michigan Legacy Art Park, has taken the time to collect more than 50 photographs that she thinks best represents our town.  Images of logging, ironworks and local business are only some of the images you will see. Photographs have been sketched onto a organized grid and numbered according to their color value the entire project will be painted in sepia tones).  All students will begin a paint by number process  just after the spring recess.  The project is expected to take several weeks to complete but is expected to be an true masterpiece for students, staff and community to enjoy for many years to come.
