HS Teachers Learn Life-Saving Techniques

On January 20, during our high school teachers’ Professional Development session, staff received CPR and first-aid training.  Bill Brietzke and Ann Butler, both from the Mancelona fire Department, were the trainers for this very important opportunity to be prepared!

Ashley Derrer

Ashley Derrer, a senior this year, has been selected as the Mancelona Rotary Club’s Student of the Month for January, 2012.  She is a leader in and out of the classroom, athletic arena and art studios, according to her teachers.  Her favorite subjects are Visual Imaging and Math.  Ashley is a team player, as evidenced by her membership in the National Honor Society, Student

Intro to Woods

Students in Intro to Woods are busy making benches, clocks, checkerboards and nightstands this year.  More experienced students are making projects such as beds, dressers, armoires, desks, tables, gun cabinets, blanket chests, entertainment centers and more.

    10-1. This is the record of the record-breaking 2011 Ironmen football team. Records were broken on almost every level. We racked up the most points ever scored in a season, before the season was even over. We allowed the fewest points in a nine game season. We hosted the first ever Friday night playoff game, and won.

Mancelona Athletes!

On Friday, November 4 it seemed like the entire town of Mancelona, including our football players, traveled to Thirlby Field for the Division 7 District Championship game with St.

Students in our Class of 2012 have been very busy in preparation for their academic futures.  Working with the Michigan College Access Network program, Communities In Schools has been assisting students and families in accessing post-secondary opportunities.
